An exciting year ahead for Adelaide Hills Hockey Club

Adelaide Hills Hockey Club is celebrating National Hockey Week with the news its Anembo Park home ground will benefit from major upgrades to its playing surface.

The combination of a $641,000 grant from the Office for Recreation and Sport and $330,000 grant from the Mount Barker District Council will see the construction of a new multi-purpose synthetic playing surface just in time for the 2019 winter sporting season.

The Club’s President, Mr. John Ziesing said the Anembo Park facility will be the first multi-purpose synthetic playing surface in the region.

“With brand new hockey pitch lighting for evening play as well as an upgraded club house and facilities for hire, the soon to be re-surfaced pitch means Adelaide Hills Hockey Club will have the best facilities in the region”, said Mr Ziesing.

Club Vice President, Claire Stephenson said the Adelaide Hills Hockey Club wants to share its facilities and now is the time to make pre-bookings of the pitch.

“Whether hockey, tennis, lacrosse or football clubs are looking for a new training ground, or schools are after a safe multi-purpose afternoon sport facility or whether personal trainers need a location under floodlights, the new Anembo Park facility will be just right”, said Ms Stephenson.

Clubs looking to preserve and rest their grounds, especially over the winter months, will have the ability to continue year-round training by hiring the Anembo Park multi-purpose playing field.
